Eastern Europe Rising

Bled5

Following AUGI CAD Camp in Denmark, I flew to Slovenia to help out at the Sales Kick Off event for our eastern European partners. If you ever have the chance to visit Slovenia, don’t miss the town of Bled. Located on a mountain lake, Bled has it all—a castle, a beautiful church located on the lake’s only island, mountains, skiing, hiking, and very nice people.

The Sales Kick-off was one of those events that I always enjoy. Most of the attending countries have ever-increasing demands for improving their respective infrastructure, so the need for an efficient solution is clear. The partners and the press were eager to see Civil 3D and MAP in action, so my job was simply to show them how, where, and when to apply the software.

Civil 3D is such a perfect fit for this kind of opportunity. From survey, to design, to construction, to GIS, Civil 3D can directly and efficiently address those tasks. It is so much fun to show this capability to others—I never tire of it.

My message remains the same: Civil 3D is SO much more than a civil engineering design tool. Because it includes all the functionality in AutoCAD and AutoCAD MAP and because of all of its inherent survey and civil engineering capabilities, Civil 3D literally renders many other software applications on a customer’s PC redundant.

Many thanks to my fellow Autodeskers, our eastern European partners, and the people of Bled. You will see me again soon—there’s much to do!
